Founded in 1842, the First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain is an American Baptist and Alliance of Baptists congregation. In 2023, FBC Needham merged with FBC Jamaica Plain toward a new and exciting iteration of ministry and mission.

We gather together in worship, witness and service, to glorify God and follow the example of Jesus, the Christ’s, inclusive love.
First Baptist Church is also affiliated with Welcoming & Affirming Baptists, seeking full inclusion and leadership within our church of LGBTQIA+ people.
We strive to seek the good of our world by serving our neighborhood and seeking justice in Jamaica Plain and beyond.
First Baptist Church in Needham is a project of First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain. We strive to continue the legacy this historic building holds in the Needham community through programming, events, and local partnerships.
